[SFX: sting] Lily: Hi, Rangers! I'm Lily. This is Rangers Radio... the story you can hear, even with no screen. Lily: I tasted the water by the shore. Blech! Salty! We can't drink that. Lily: Noor points at the sun. She says: the sun can help us. No fire needed! Ricky: This one is called sun drops. A grown-up sets it up, because the plastic and the sun get hot. Kids watch from one step back. Lily: Step one. A grown-up pours the salty or dirty water into a big bowl. [SFX: pour] Lily: Step two. A clean, empty cup goes in the middle. The top of the cup stays above the water. [SFX: clink] Lily: Step three. Plastic wrap goes over the top, tight. Then one small stone in the center, right above the cup. [SFX: wrap] Ricky: The sun warms the water. Little drops form on the plastic. They slide down to the stone... and drip into the cup. [SFX: drip] Lily: Step four. Drink only from the cup. Never the bowl! Ricky: It is slow. Set it up early in the day. You get a little water, not a lot. Lily: Let's say it again, Rangers. Slowly. Lily: One... a grown-up sets it up. Plastic and sun get hot. Lily: Two... salty water in a big bowl, a clean cup in the middle. Lily: Three... plastic wrap on top, a small stone in the center. Lily: Four... drink from the cup, never the bowl. Lily: Sun goes up, drops come down. Clean drops in the cup, safe and sound! Lily: Sun goes up, drops come down. Clean drops in the cup, safe and sound! [SFX: claps] Ricky: Great job, Rangers. See you tomorrow. Lily: No screen? Listen free on Rangers Radio. Lily: Smoky Trail Rangers by David McKellips.
